Catedral Alta Patagonia or Cerro Catedral is the actual ski resort located 12 miles from town. Catedral Ski Resort is a full service resort with all the amenities that are expected from a world class ski area. The resort just completed a huge 4 year renovation adding many on-mountain amenities, including hands free ski passes, increased snowmaking, on mountain dining, new chairlifts and additions to the base area. This plan has generated the incorporation of new lifts to the winter resort, which enables skiers five independent ways to reach the upper part of the mountain and provide a smoother flow.
Catedral offers skiing on 2,964 acres. The bottom half of the mountain offers 53 groomed and marked trails for skiers of all abilities. Some of the best skiing in Argentina can be found in the upper bowls where you will find treeless pistes. The highest point at Catedral at 2100 meters above sea level has the most impressive and beautiful views of the Andes Mountain Range and the Patagonian lakes! Visible from the ridgeline is Mt Tronador (11,660ft), the National Park Nahuel Huapi, and the border to Chile's Lake Region.
Catedral attracts a young crowd who love challenging slopes and a lively social scene. The base village has a few great hotel options, restaurants, 40+ shops, a casino and a movie theatre. The exciting town of Bariloche, situated around the Nahuel Huapi Lake, has strong connections to Europe, and is know for its vibrant nightlife. Bariloche is a hot spot for music in addition to a variety of pubs, bars, restaurants and discos.
